Tech Talk: eERC & x402 on Avalanche
This is Session 1 of an ongoing learning series designed to take the Avalanche community from foundational concepts all the way to proposing and understanding ACPs.
We're starting where every good journey starts — with clarity. Before writing a single line of code, we need to understand why these standards exist, what problems they solve, and how they fit into the Avalanche ecosystem.
This first session focuses on eERC and x402: two standards reshaping how tokens and payments work on-chain. We'll break down the concepts, explore real use cases, and close with a homework assignment to prepare you for next week's hands-on coding session.
What we'll cover
- What is eERC and how it extends token standards
- What is x402 and how it enables machine-to-machine payments
- How both standards interact within the Avalanche ecosystem
- Real-world use cases for builders
- Homework: what to explore before Session 2
This series is for you if...
- You want to go beyond the surface and truly understand how Avalanche works
- You're ready to commit to a learning path that ends with you being able to read, discuss, and propose ACPs
- You learn best in community, step by step
Next week: we open the editor. Come back ready to code.
